An afternoon visit to Treasure Island to see the sunset line up with Fort Point.

19oct2006 Sunset
Another Golden Gate sunset from the east bay shoreline.

16oct2006 Afternoon
Rambling around on a sunny fall afternoon, through El Cerrito, Oakland, and Emeryville.

Couple pix from a geocaching outing to Las Trampas.

08oct2006 Fleet Week
More Fleet Week goodness.

07oct2006 Fleet Week
Fleet Week 2006 starts!

05oct2006 SF
An afternoon in San Francisco after the first rain of the season.

24sep2006 Mare Island & Alcatraz
Another visit to Mare Island, plus a night tour of Alcatraz.

23sep2006 Treasure Island
Some folks from flickr got together on Treasure Island for the dragon boat races. Afterwards we explored the military ruins a bit.

20sep2006 Marin
I took Golden Gate Transit #42 from El Cerrito del Norte BART to San Rafael and then biked to San Francisco. It was only about 20 miles total. Along the way I visited an abandoned train tunnel, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Marin County Civic Center building.

19sep2006 Tilden
A few pix on a ride up into Wildcat Canyon and Tilden Park.

18sep2006 Bus Bridge
While taking BART to SF I saw an old GM bus out the window, so I had to get off at the next stop and bike back to take pictures. Later in SF I noticed the 4th St. bridge had re-opened so I shot that too.

15sep2006 Dahlias
We were going to see the Monet exhibit at the Legion of Honor but it was way too crowded, so instead we visited the dahlia garden in Golden Gate Park.

12sep2006 Mendocino
Headed home today. But first we did a little hike at a new part of Jug Handle State Reserve. The fog was coming and going, but we lucked out on the hike and had mostly sun.

11sep2006 Mendocino
Seventh day in Mendocino. Sunny! I biked to Fort Bragg and back. Lunch at Cap'n Flint's seafood shack in Noyo Harbor. Dinner was leftovers at home, including a very nice batch of scrambled eggs with sautéed onion & linguiça and some grated Jarlsberg.

10sep2006 Mendocino
Sixth day in Mendocino. Foggy on the coast but sunny 1/4 mile inland. I biked to Mendocino town, stopping off at various interesting sights along the way, and then up the Big River logging road for six miles. Lunch at Mendo Burger. Dinner at a crappy restaurant in Noyo Harbor that I won't bother to name.

09sep2006 Mendocino
Fifth day in Mendocino. We spent the morning walking around the Mendocino headlands / beach / town, had lunch at Mendocino Cafe, then relaxed at home. Dinner was a yummy seafood stew over rice.

08sep2006 Mendocino
Fourth day in Mendocino. Foggy. We hiked up through Van Damme State Park in Little River. The fog ended a few miles inland so we had some nice sun for a picnic lunch in the redwoods. Yummy filet mignon steak for dinner.

07sep2006 Mendocino
Third day in Mendocino. Sunny! We visited the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens just south of Fort Bragg. Had a nice picnic lunch in the gardens. After lunch we did a quick walk to Glass Beach and visited Mendocino town to buy newspapers and check email at Moody's coffee bar & internet cafe.

06sep2006 Mendocino
Second day in Mendocino. Still foggy, so we went to Fort Bragg and rode the Skunk Train inland. It broke out into the sun after a mile or so. Lunch at the North Coast Brewing Company.
