The AMGEN Tour of California rode from Stockton to San Jose. I rode from Dublin/Pleasanton BART to Union City BART, by way of Vallecitos Road and Niles Canyon. The tour caught up with me right at the old GE Vallecitos nuclear plant.

The weatherfolks were predicting a hard freeze last night, so before going to bed I made a tripod out of three poles and a tie-wrap, and put a dripping hose on top. It worked much better than I expected! The tower ended up 21.5" tall.

Biked around Oakland and Berkeley a little on a sunny but really cold day.

Took BART to Fremont and then explored the bay's shoreline around to Alviso. Then south to Santa Clara to catch Caltrain.

05jan2007 Point Bonita

I got an urge to ride over the Golden Gate Bridge to Point Bonita in the Marin Headlands. The path to the lighthouse was not open but I did find some very nice military ruins nearby.
